Brooke Halsey was admitted into the California State Bar in 1989 after earning a juris doctorate at Santa Clara University School of Law and graduating with honors at California State University, San Diego.

He served as a deputy district attorney for the County of Sonoma for 15 years before entering private practice. In 2006, he founded the Tiburon Salmon Institute, an educational non-profit organization, and currently is Executive Director.

Active in the community, Brooke is a board member of the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society and Marin Highlanders Rugby Football Club. He also sits on the Marin County Fish and Wildlife Commission and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's Abalone Advisory Commission. Brooke also is a member of the Corinthian Yacht Club.
